PM lauds the inclusion of Kozhikode as the ‘City of Literature’ and Gwalior as the ‘City of Music’ in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network

The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, has praised the inclusion of Kozhikode as a 'City of Literature' and Gwalior as a 'City of Music' in UNESCO's Creative Cities Network. Mr. Modi applauded the people of Kozhikode and Gwalior on their outstanding accomplishments.

Prime Minister Mr. Modi stated that with Kozhikode's rich literary tradition, India's cultural vibrancy shines brightly on the global scene.  He also emphasised Gwalior's commitment to maintaining and strengthening its musical history, which he claimed is being echoed around the world.

Referring to posts on X from Union Minister of Culture, Mr. G Kishan Reddy, the Prime Minister stated:

“India's cultural vibrancy shines brighter on the global stage with Kozhikode's rich literary legacy and Gwalior's melodious heritage now joining the esteemed UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Congratulations to the people of Kozhikode and Gwalior on this remarkable achievement!

As we celebrate this international recognition, our nation reaffirms its commitment to preserving and promoting our diverse cultural traditions.
