PM Modi briefed his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez on priorities for G20

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, in a telephone conversation with his Spanish counterpart Mr. Pedro Sanchez, discussed India's priorities for the G20 Presidency.

According to a news release from the Prime Minister's Office, he informed his Spanish counterpart that India's aims for the G20 Presidency are focused on striving to foster unity based on the idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam (One Earth, One Family, One Future).

In response, Prime Minister Mr. Sanchez extended full support to India's initiatives under its G20 Presidency.

The leaders talked about a variety of subjects of bilateral and global concern. They discussed ongoing bilateral projects and expressed delight over recent high-level interactions and expanding collaboration in the defence, business, and economic sectors. According to the announcement, they decided to work together on problems including digital infrastructure, climate action, the transition to clean energy, and sustainable development.

Earlier, on June 15, 2022, Mr. Jose Manuel Albares, Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, travelled to India. One of Spain's earliest high-level visits to India occurred around that time. During his visit, Albares held talks with his Indian counterpart Dr. S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs. The bilateral relations were discussed by the two foreign ministers. Both parties agreed to give their relationship fresh depth and substance at the same time.
