Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated Asia's largest Bio-CNG plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. PM Modi remarked at the event that work is underway to build comparable gobar dhan Bio-CNG facilities in 75 large municipal bodies across the country in the next two years. He noted that the programme will go a long way toward making India's cities clean, pollution-free, and energy-efficient. The Bio-CNG factory in Indore was built on the notion of waste-to-wealth innovation. The factory, which has a capacity of 550 MT per day is said to be the biggest of kind in Asia.

He said that, "Whether it is the wet waste that comes out of the houses in the city, the garbage from the livestock and farms in the village, all this is gobar dhan in a way. From city's waste and livestock to gobar dhan, from gobar dhan to clean fuel and again from clean fuel to energy, the chain creates Jivan Dhan"

He also added that, there are two approaches to any problem. The first step is to come up with a quick solution to the problem. The second step is to deal with it in such a way that everyone is provided with a long-term solution. He emphasised that the government's programmes during the last seven years are intended to provide long-term solutions.

The government is attempting to transform an increasing number of cities into water plus areas. The second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission is being prioritized in this regard.
