PM Modi meets Swedish counterpart in Denmark, discusses ways to deepen ties

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi met with Prime Minister of Sweden Ms. Magdalena Andersson, in Denmark, where the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties as well as the Joint Action Plan's development. He arrived in Copenhagen from Berlin on the second leg of his three-nation European tour and met Ms. Andersson on the margins of the second India-Nordic Summit in the Danish capital.

Mr. Modi took stock of the Joint Action Plan's progress. Mr. Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), expressed appreciation for the expanded scope of the jointly established LeadIT programme. Foreign Secretary Mr. Vinay Kwatra told the media that the India-Nordic summit will focus on elements of bilateral cooperation that fall into three to four major clusters: trade and investment ties, the digital and innovation partnership, the green partnership, and other areas of economic cooperation. India's trade with Nordic countries exceeds US$ 5 billion (2020-21), with a total FDI of more than US$ 3 billion (April 2000-March 2021).
