PM Modi says self-reliance in technology will create jobs in country

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi made a strong case for self-reliance in technology-related sectors stating that science and technology was not an isolated sector because it was directly related with the digital economy and based on modern technology, which is now focusing on fast delivery and empowering individuals, while speaking at a webinar on Technology-enabled Development.
Technology is driving infrastructure improvement and playing a critical role in the development of Aatmanirbhar Bharat; even public distribution systems are being linked to digital platforms. The required spectrum auctions will be held in 2022 to support the rollout of 5G mobile services in 2022-23. The government's new efforts should emphasize ‘self-reliance’ through technology.
The budget for 2022-23 has placed a strong emphasis on emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, geospatial systems, drones, semiconductors, genomics, space technology, and clean technology, among others.
