PM Modi signs 6 MoUs with his Nepalese counterpart Deuba in Lumbini

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi met his Nepalese counterpart Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba in Lumbini, to discuss ways to improve ongoing cooperation and establish new areas in the multidimensional bilateral partnership. Following their discussions, the two parties signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in the cultural and educational areas.

The Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) signed separate Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Lumbini Buddhist University to establish the Dr. Ambedkar Chair for Buddhist Studies, Tribhuvan University to establish the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies, and Kathmandu University (KU) to establish the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies. An MOU was also inked between Kathmandu University (KU) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M). A Letter of Agreement (LoA) was signed between KU and IIT-M for a Master's level joint degree programme. An agreement was also signed between SJVN Ltd and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for the development and implementation of the Arun 4 Project.
