PM Mr. Modi holds virtual summit with Dutch counterpart

On Friday, Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi stated that India and the Netherlands have taken similar approaches to global issues such as climate change, extremism, and pandemics.

He spoke at a virtual summit with his Dutch counterpart, Mr. Mark Rutte.

Mr. Modi said, “Both countries are collaborating in fields such as Indo-Pacific resilient supply chains and global digital governance.”

In the opening statement, he said, “Establishing a fast track system for investment promotion would give new impetus to the two countries' strong economic cooperation.”

On Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that India and the Netherlands have cordial and friendly ties based on mutual principles of democracy, rule of law, and independence.

Water conservation, agriculture and food production, healthcare, smart cities and urban mobility, science and technology, renewable energy, and space are a few of the fields where the two countries collaborate.

There are > 200 Dutch companies operational in India, with a similar number of Indian companies operating in the Netherlands.
