The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is growing rapidly as a new way for craftspeople and artisans working in traditional trades. On December 1, 2025, the number of beneficiaries registered was 30 lakh, including 23.09 lakh who were receiving training to improve their skills and efficiency. The Federal Government has partnered with leading payment gateways to enable artisans to create QR codes that facilitate digital payments. To date, over 6.8 lakh artisans have received Digital Payment Incentives totalling Rs. 22 crore (US$ 2.45 million). In addition, the Scheme has improved Market Access for artisans by enabling them to sell their products through online platforms such as ONDC, FabIndia, and Meesho, both domestically and internationally. A further 30,000 beneficiaries have been onboarded onto the Government eMarketplace (GeM), thus connecting them directly to institutional buyers and expanding their commercial options.
As a second element supporting this ecosystem, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is utilising the CHAMPIONS portal as a one-stop shop for MSME grievance redressal, MSME support, and MSME guidance. The portal helps MSMEs navigate the various government programmes available to them, connects them with government and financial institutions across the country, and provides content in 23 languages through 69 state control rooms. The portal has received 159,577 grievances as of November 26, 2025, and has a 99.24% response rate with 158,372 responses. The portal continues to be a critical digital resource for MSMEs to grow, as evidenced by the participation of public and private sector banks, CPSEs, and state agencies.
