Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) is a comprehensive package that will result in the development of modern infrastructure and efficient supply chain management from farm to store. PMKSY is an umbrella programme that encompasses the ministry's ongoing initiatives such as Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure, Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure, Infrastructure for Agro-processing Clusters, Creation / Expansion of Food Processing and Preservation Capabilities, and Operation Greens.
The food processing ministry said on Monday that its flagship scheme, the PMKSY, had been extended till March 2026 with a Rs 4,600 crore budget allocation. SAMPADA (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) was announced by the Centre in May 2017 with a budget of Rs 6,000 crore (US$ 804.1 million) which was renamed to PMKSY in August 2017.
