Excellency, Hello.
First of all,
I want to congratulate you and best wishes for entering your 5th year of office on December 14. I was looking forward to visit Uzbekistan this year.
My journey could not take place due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, but I am glad that in this era of "Work From Anywhere" we are meeting today through virtual medium.
Excellency,
India and Uzbekistan are two rich civilizations. Our ancient times There has been constant interaction since. There is a lot of commonality in our understanding and approach to the challenges and opportunities in our region. And so, our relationship has always been very strong.
During your visits to India in 2018 and 2019, we have a lot of issues. Had the opportunity to discuss, which saw a new momentum in our relationship.
Excellency,
We have similar concerns about extremism, fundamentalism and separatism.
We both stand firmly together against terrorism. We also have a similar approach on regional security issues.
We agree that the restoration of peace in Afghanistan requires a process that is led, owned and controlled by Afghanistan itself. It is also necessary to preserve the achievements of the last two decades.
India and Uzbekistan together took the initiative of India-Central Asia Dialogue. It started in Samarkand last year.
Excellency,
Our economic partnership has also strengthened over the years.
We also want to further intensify our development partnership with Uzbekistan.
I am happy to know that many projects are being considered under the Indian Line of Credit.
We are ready to share India's expertise and experience as per your development priorities.
India has great potential in areas such as infrastructure, IT, education, health, training and capacity building, which can be useful for Uzbekistan. Establishment of the Joint Working Group between us is an important and positive step. With this we can find opportunities to increase our agricultural trade which will help the farmers of both countries.
Excellency,
Our security partnership is becoming a strong pillar of bilateral relations is.
Last year was the first joint military exercise of our armed forces.
Our joint efforts are also increasing in the areas of space and atomic energy.
It is also a matter of satisfaction that during this difficult time of the Kovid-19 epidemic, both countries have fully supported each other. Whether to supply medicines or to return each other's citizens to a safe home.
Cooperation among our states is also increasing. Cooperation between Haryana and Fargana is now being built on the model of successful participation of Gujarat and the Andijans.
Excellency,
Under your leadership, significant changes are taking place in Uzbekistan, and in India too we stand on the path of reforms.
This will increase the possibilities of mutual cooperation between us in the post-Covid period.
I believe that these discussions will give new direction and energy to our efforts today.
Excellency,
I invite you to your Opening Remarks now.
