Power Grid Corporation board approves investments of about US$ 497 million (Rs. 4,071 crores)

Investments worth about US$ 497 million (Rs. 4,071 crores) have been approved by the Power Grid Corporation’s board for two transmission projects in the country.
The transmission system for Kurnool Wind Energy Zone/Solar Energy Zone (AP)- Part-A and Part-B has been approved at an estimated cost of US$ 433 million (Rs. 3,546.94 crores), which is scheduled to be commissioned by November, 2024. It has also approved the Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XXIX (ERES-XXIX) at an estimated cost of US$ 64 million (Rs. 524.04 crores), scheduled to be commissioned by November, 2025.
