On December 1, 2023, the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Mr. Piyush Goyal, announced India's plan to add US$ 30 trillion to its GDP in less than 30 years with the help of a population under the age of 30. He also highlighted that India had become a global hotspot for investors, with its market capitalization recently reaching US$ 4 trillion.
He stated that India now confidently engages with the world with an unprecedented, indomitable spirit of confidence rather than arrogance. He stated that India is an economy in which port capacity has doubled in ten years, airport capacity has doubled from 74 to 150 in the last nine years and is expected to grow to 225 in the next five years, and 140 new inland waterways have been started to supplement the large network of modern high-quality railways and highways. He mentioned that the wonderful infrastructure seen in other areas of the world is now being built in India.
He encouraged the audience to visit Delhi and experience the new parliament house and Bharat Mandapam, where high-quality international exhibitions are held. He invited them to witness a prosperous economy, a caring system, and a quality of life with abundant opportunities.
He also emphasized that India is leading in the 5G thrust, encompassing growth, good governance, grit, genuine trust, and green technologies that promote sustainability.
Moreover, He acknowledged the significant role of Chartered Accountants as the largest organized professional body of Indians in Bahrain. He praised their unwavering commitment to integrity, hard work, and high morals, highlighting their role as ambassadors of India worldwide.
