The President of India, Ms. Droupadi Murmu attended a civic reception organised in her honour by the Government of Nagaland and virtually laid the foundation stone for numerous initiatives related to education, road infrastructure, and the financial sector in Kohima. Speaking on the occasion, the President stated that infrastructure development is a critical factor in a state's growth. The Government of India's 'Act East Policy' focuses on the entire development of the North-Eastern Region. She expressed optimism that the roads and bridges inaugurated as part of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana will improve connectivity in the region.
The President stated that Nagaland's dynamic youth are extremely talented and innovative. With a literacy rate of more than 80%, skilled young men and women from Nagaland who are fluent in English work in IT, hospitality, and other sectors across India. Providing a complete education to the youth is the key to assisting them in reaching their full potential. She was sure that new initiatives like as schools and dormitories for girls, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, and the smart classrooms project will boost education in the state. She said that as Nagaland completes 60 years of statehood, everyone should rededicate themselves towards the goal of a more prosperous and developed Nagaland.
