President of India Inaugurates first Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show at Greater Noida

Speaking on the event, the President Ms. Droupadi Murmu stated that the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show is a welcome move towards introducing Uttar Pradesh products to Indian and international markets.

She was pleased to see that over 2,000 producers are showcasing their products, and over 400 buyers from 66 countries are attending this trade event. She expressed optimism that this event will develop into an effective forum for Uttar Pradesh's manufacturers and entrepreneurs to expand their reach in the domestic and global markets.

The President praised the display of numerous products from 'One District One Product' at this trade expo. She was pleased to see that young entrepreneurs from the state, particularly women entrepreneurs, are also presenting their items alongside handicraft-based goods. She underlined the importance of increasing women's engagement in entrepreneurship and the labour force.

The President highlighted that the Uttar Pradesh government has recently taken a number of actions to promote economic growth and investment. She stated that because to the simplification of the investment procedure, ease of doing business, and acceleration in infrastructure development, Uttar Pradesh is currently one of the fastest growing state-level economies in the country.

She expressed optimism that India would overtake the United States as the third-largest economy in the world on the strength of such stellar state-level economic performance. The President stated that Uttar Pradesh leads all states with over 96 lakh MSMEs. She added that despite being a landlocked state, Uttar Pradesh's exports are steadily increasing.

She was pleased to see that the state's exports had increased from roughly Rs. 88,000 crore (US$ 10.59 billion) in 2017-18 to around Rs. 1,75,000 crore (US$ 21.06 billion) in 2022-23. She emphasised that the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration includes the goal of creating local value, addressing the issues encountered by MSMEs, and linking MSMEs on an international scale. She expressed confidence that our national and international interests will be advanced at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in line with the G20's objectives.
