Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela via videoconference on December 23, 2024, distributing over 71,000 letters to newly appointed youth in government departments and organisations. This event underscores the government's commitment to employment generation and empowering youth through meaningful opportunities for nation-building. He highlighted that in the last year and a half, around one million permanent government jobs have been created, with full transparency. He stressed that these jobs provide stability and enable youth to serve the nation with dedication and integrity.
In his address, he mentioned his recent visit to Kuwait, where he engaged with Indian youth and professionals. He noted that this event marks a new beginning for thousands of youth in India. He acknowledged the role of the youth in driving the nation's progress and emphasised that India’s development depends on its capabilities and leadership. He also discussed various government initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, and Startup India, which have placed youth at the forefront of the country’s growth. He further pointed out that these efforts have contributed to India becoming the world's fifth-largest economy, with a thriving startup ecosystem and advancements in renewable energy, mobile manufacturing, and defence. In recognition of the role of rural youth, he also highlighted schemes that generate employment in agriculture and rural areas, such as the Gobar-Dhan Yojana and e-NAM.
