Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, during his address to the Parliament of Ghana on a two-day official visit, emphasised India's commitment to contributing to global peace, prosperity, and stability. He asserted that as the world’s largest democracy and fastest-growing emerging economy, India stands as a pillar of strength in an evolving international order. Highlighting India’s political stability and robust governance, he reiterated the nation’s imminent rise as the world’s third-largest economy and emphasised its potential to shape a more inclusive and balanced global future.
He called for credible and effective reforms in global governance structures, stating that the world order established post-World War II no longer reflects today’s realities. He pointed to transformative forces such as technological change, the rise of the Global South, and demographic shifts, all of which necessitate an updated global framework. Stressing that lasting progress cannot be achieved without amplifying the voice of developing nations, he reaffirmed India’s resolve to represent and advocate for the aspirations of the Global South in global decision-making platforms.
