Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the International Museum Expo 2023

At Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, officially inaugurated the International Museum Expo 2023 on May 18, 2023. Additionally, he inaugurated a virtual tour of the planned National Museum's North and South Blocks. To commemorate the 47th International Museum Day and the year's theme of "Museums, Sustainability, and Well Being," the International Museum Expo is being organized as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

While addressing the gathering, he informed that there is a special campaign being undertaken by the government to preserve rural and local museums as well as the cultural legacy of every state and segment of society. The creation of ten special museums to honour the achievements of the tribal people to India's freedom movement was also mentioned by the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister emphasised the significance of the event by pointing out that while India is commemorating Amrit Mahotsav in honour of its 75th anniversary of independence, technology is bringing many historical eras to life at the International Museum Expo.

Mr. Narendra Modi recommended that museums should take a leadership role in protecting the resources for future generations.
