Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurates and lays the foundation stone for development projects worth more than US$ 138.2 million (Rs. 1,150 crore) in Kavaratti, Lakshadweep

The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, inaugurated and dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for development projects exceeding US$ 138.2 million (Rs. 1,150 crores) in Kavaratti, Lakshadweep, today. Encompassing a diverse array of sectors, these development initiatives span technology, energy, water resources, healthcare, and education. During the event, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi distributed laptops to students as part of the Laptop Scheme and provided bicycles to school students under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. Additionally, he distributed PM Kisan Credit Cards to beneficiary farmers and fishermen.

In his address to the gathering, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi eloquently expressed the indescribable beauty of Lakshadweep and shared his experiences of visiting Agatti, Bangaram, and Kavaratti to engage with the citizens. Overwhelmed by the warmth of the people, he acknowledged the profound depths of their hearts, emphasizing the limited geographical expanse of Lakshadweep contrasted with the profound spirit of its residents.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi highlighted the historical neglect faced by remote, border, coastal, and island regions, affirming that the current government has prioritized their development.
