Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurates, dedicates to the nation and lays the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than US$ 2.4 billion (Rs. 20,000 crores) in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu

The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, inaugurated and dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for development projects exceeding US$ 2.4 billion (Rs. 20,000 crores)  in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu today. These initiatives span various sectors, including rail, road, oil and gas, and shipping.

During his address to the gathering, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi extended New Year wishes and expressed his pleasure that his inaugural public program in 2024 occurred in Tamil Nadu. Emphasizing the significance of the projects valued at over US$ 2.4 billion (Rs. 20,000 crores), he highlighted their role in enhancing Tamil Nadu's progress. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi congratulated the state's residents for endeavors encompassing roadways, railways, ports, airports, energy, and petroleum pipelines. He underscored the potential of these projects to stimulate travel and generate numerous employment opportunities within the state.

Acknowledging the recent challenging weeks in Tamil Nadu marked by heavy rains, loss of lives, and significant property damage, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi conveyed condolences and assured the state of the central government's unwavering support. He affirmed ongoing assistance to the State government in managing the aftermath of the adverse weather conditions.

In tribute to the late Mr. Thiru Vijaykanth, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi lauded his multifaceted contributions, recognizing him not only as a 'Captain' in the cinematic realm but also in politics. He commended Mr. Vijaykanth for prioritizing national interests in his work and films. Additionally, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi honored the legacy of Dr. M S Swaminathan, highlighting his pivotal role in ensuring food security for the nation and expressing condolences for his passing.
