Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated and dedicated development projects worth Rs. 26,000 crore (US$ 3.02 billion) in Bikaner, Rajasthan. He highlighted the significant participation of people from 18 states and union territories who joined online. He underscored the rapid advancements in infrastructure over the past 11 years, noting that India is now investing six times more in infrastructure development compared to previous years. He pointed to iconic projects such as the Chenab Bridge, Sela Tunnel, and Bogibeel Bridge. He also highlighted the modernization of railway stations, with over 100 Amrit Bharat stations completed. These stations reflect regional art and history, such as the Mandalgarh station in Rajasthan and the Thawe station in Bihar. He emphasized that these projects preserve India's heritage, boost tourism, and create employment opportunities.
He stressed the substantial benefits Rajasthan is gaining from ongoing infrastructure development, with significant investments in road and railway infrastructure. He noted that high-quality roads are being constructed across villages and border areas. Over the past 11 years, approximately Rs. 70,000 crore (US$ 8.14 billion) has been invested in Rajasthan's road infrastructure alone. The central government is set to spend nearly Rs. 10,000 crore (US$ 1.16 billion) on railway development in the state this year, marking a 15-fold increase compared to pre-2014 levels. He remarked on the flagging-off of a new train connecting Bikaner to Mumbai, further enhancing connectivity. Additionally, he emphasized the launch and foundation stone laying of various health, water, and electricity projects in multiple regions. These initiatives aim to accelerate the progress of both urban and rural areas of Rajasthan, ensuring that young people find promising opportunities within their cities and towns.
