Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurates Rs. 6,000 crore (US$ 751.6 million) Amrita Hospital in Haryana's Faridabad

The Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on August 24, with the intention of increasing the amount of contemporary medical infrastructure available in the National Capital Region (NCR). The super-specialty hospital, run by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, will have 2,600 beds.

The facility, which is being built at an estimated cost of over Rs. 6,000 crores (US$ 751.6 million), would offer people in Faridabad and the wider NCR region access to cutting-edge medical amenities.

Following the inauguration at Faridabad, Mr. Modi will travel to Mohali and dedicate the 'Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre' to the country at Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District (Mohali).

The Tata Memorial Centre, an affiliated organisation run by the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India, spent more than Rs. 660 crore (US$ 82.67 million) to construct the hospital.
