Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi Interacts with CEOs, Founders of 20 Space Startups in New Delhi

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi interacted with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and founders of 20 space startups in New Delhi, highlighting the growing role of India’s private space sector in driving innovation and expanding the application of space technology across the economy. During the interaction, Mr. Narendra Modi called for wider use of space technology to improve everyday lives and encouraged greater collaboration between the space industry and social development sectors. He said India’s space sector has the potential to become a magnet for global talent, companies and investment and emphasised the need to create an ecosystem where the world looks towards India for space capabilities. He also encouraged startups to work with Atal Tinkering Labs to nurture curiosity and interest in space among young students. The founders highlighted the rapid progress of India’s private space industry, the opportunities created by opening the sector to private participation and the strong support received from the Government.
The interaction brought together founders of leading space startups including Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Pixxel, Dhruva Space, GalaxEye, PierSight, Bellatrix Aerospace and Digantara, among others. Mr. Narendra Modi congratulated entrepreneurs and innovators for entering a demanding and emerging sector, noting that their willingness to take risks and pursue new opportunities has contributed to India’s progress in space. He urged startups to explore applications of space technology in areas such as agriculture, livestock management, dairy and environmental management, thereby connecting advanced space capabilities with broader development needs. The Government assured continued support to the private space industry as companies work to build India’s future capabilities. The growing participation of startups is expected to strengthen innovation, attract investment, create new technological opportunities and support the development of a commercially viable and globally competitive Indian space ecosystem.
