Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi laid the foundation and inaugurated AIIMS Jharkhand

On July 12, 2022, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated the In-Patient Department (IPD) and Operation theatre services at AIIMS Deoghar during his visit to Deoghar, Jharkhand.

According to the Center, the construction of these additional facilities at AIIMS Deoghar will contribute to the achievement of the dual goals of providing the general public with super speciality health care services, and building a sizable community of health workers for the benefit of the area. The Jharkhand AIIMS hospital in Deoghar will serve not only the residents of Jharkhand, but also those of nearby states Bihar and West Bengal.

Additionally, academic lectures and hostel housing for medical students have begun at the AIIMS Deoghar campus.

The AIIMS site will include a multi-specialty centre with 750 beds, a 1000-seat auditorium, a 100-seat MBBS college, a dorm for in-house personnel, and a student hostel. In the future years, AIIMS Deoghar will set new standards for excellence in medical research.

The National Building Construction Company (NBCC) granted NKG Infrastructure Ltd, a New Delhi-based company, the construction work for the AIIMS hospital. The work is being implemented by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under the PMSSY scheme.
