Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi dedicated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects across several sectors, totalling approximately Rs. 7,500 crore (US$ 902 million) in Maharashtra.
The new Darshan Queue facility at Shirdi was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister. It is a cutting-edge, modern mega-building designed to provide devotees with comfortable waiting areas.
It is equipped with several waiting areas that can accommodate over 10,000 devotees in total. Air-conditioned public spaces such as cloakrooms, restrooms, Prasad counters, booking counters, information centres, etc. are available. The Prime Minister laid the cornerstone for the new Darshan Queue Complex in October 2018, as per the Prime Minister’s office.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation the left bank (85km) canal network of the Nilwande Dam. Through the facilitation of water pipe distribution networks, it will benefit 182 villages from seven Tehsils (six in the district of Ahmednagar and one in the district of Nashik). Nilwande Dam was initially envisioned in 1970. It said that it is being created at a cost of roughly Rs. 5,177 crore (US$ 622.6 million).
'Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana' was also introduced by the Prime Minister during the public programme. The Yojana will benefit more than 86 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra, by providing an additional amount of Rs. 6,000 (US$ 72.16) per year to them.
In addition, the Prime Minister also inaugurated and dedicated a number of development projects to the country, such as the Ayush Hospital at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital, the 186-kilometer Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section, the third and fourth railway lines connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval, the four-laning of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166 (Package-I), and the additional facilities at Indian Oil Corporation Limited's Manmad Terminal.
Additionally, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Ahmednagar Civil Hospital's Maternal and Child Health Wing.
Later, he was supposed to visit Goa to inaugurate the 37th National Games.
