Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launches Rozgar Mela – recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi used video conferencing to begin Rozgar Mela, a recruitment drive for 10 lakh people. During the ceremony, 75,000 newly inducted appointees received their appointment letters. The Prime Minister began his address to the appointments with greetings and best wishes for Dhanteras.

“Today marks the day when a new link in the form of Rozgar Mela is being anchored to the country's job and self-employment programmes that have been running for the previous eight years," he remarked.

The Prime Minister stated that in honour of the 75th anniversary of independence, the central government is issuing appointment letters to 75,000 young people through a programme. Union Minister for DoPT, Dr. Jitendra Singh, told Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his welcome address at the Rozgar Mela at ISTM in Delhi that his department will issue the next batch of appointment letters very soon in order to reach the aim of 10 lakh government employment in the next few months. He stated that, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directives, all Ministries and Departments are working to fill existing vacancies against sanctioned jobs in Mission Mode.

Dr. Jitendra Singh handed out appointment letters to 40 new appointments from the Ministries of Defence, Railways, Home, Finance, Communications, Labour, Mines, Information and Broadcasting, Water Resources, Department of Space, and Banks.
