Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation multiple projects worth over Rs. 8,000 crore (US$ 971.26 million) in Amod, Bharuch, Gujarat. The Prime Minister lay the groundwork for the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar, the Deep Sea Pipeline Project in Dahej, Phase 1 of Ankleshwar Airport, and the creation of Multilevel Industrial Sheds in Ankleshwar and Panoli. The Prime Minister also dedicated numerous projects that will benefit Gujarat's chemical sector, including the GACL Plant, Bharuch Underground Drainage, and the IOCL Dahej Koyali Pipeline.
The Prime Minister stated that the first Bulk Drug Park, as well as numerous projects in the chemical sector, had been handed to Bharuch. He also stated that the foundation stone for the Bharuch Airport in Ankleshwar has been placed, removing the need for the people of Bharuch to rely on Baroda or Surat. The Prime Minister also stated that Bharuch has more industry than other minor states in the country, and that with the new airport project, the region will undoubtedly take the high road in terms of growth.
The Prime Minister reiterated his call for vocal-for-local. Every citizen may contribute to Aatmnirbhar Bharat by buying local and avoiding imported goods, he said. The Prime Minister also stated that the development of Bharuch and Ankleshwar is being carried out in accordance with the twin city concept, similar to that of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. People will talk about Bharuch and Ankleshwar the same way they talk about New York and New Jersey, he concluded.
