Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated multiple development projects worth over Rs. 24,000 crore (US$ 2.82 billion) in Dahod, Gujarat. Addressing the gathering, he reflected on the significance of May 26, 2025, marking his first oath as Prime Minister in 2014, and credited the people of Gujarat for their trust and support. He stated that India has broken free from decades-old constraints, emerging into an era of confidence, with 140 crore Indians united in building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). He highlighted India’s rapid growth in manufacturing, particularly in sectors like smartphones, automobiles, defence, medicines, and railway technology. He proudly flagged off the first electric locomotive from the Dahod Electric Locomotive Factory, a facility expected to produce 9,000-horsepower engines and generate substantial local employment.
He highlighted Gujarat’s transformation into an industrial hub with significant advancements in semiconductors, aircraft, and rail manufacturing. He underlined the state’s contribution to the Make in India initiative, with metro coaches and railway components exports to countries such as Australia, England, France, and Mexico. Noting the importance of tribal development, he emphasised the Central Government’s investment of around Rs. 80,000 crore (US$ 9.40 billion) under the Dhartii Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan to uplift over 60,000 villages, including electrification, roads, water, and healthcare. He also celebrated the national mission to eradicate sickle cell anemia and the transformation of Dahod from a backward district to an Aspirational District with modern irrigation and infrastructure. He saluted India’s armed forces, highlighting recent military actions against terrorism and expressing confidence in Dahod’s potential to become one of India’s most developed districts.
