Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi says, PRAGATI helped fast-track projects during past 10 years

PM Narendra Modi chaired the 50th PRAGATI Meeting, which took place in New Delhi and covered five major infrastructure projects worth Rs. 40,000 Crores (US$ 5 billion) across five states, including Roads, Railways, Power, Water Resources, and Coal. The Prime Minister stated that the last ten years have shown how effective the PRAGATI Ecosystem has been in accelerating the execution of over Rs. 85 Lakh Crores (US$ 1 Trillion) worth of projects by reducing delays between Ministries and States and improving coordination between them. As of 2014, 377 projects have been discussed at PRAGATI meetings, with 94 percent of the outstanding issues being resolved, meaning that PRAGATI is increasingly crucial as India ramps up its Infrastructure Growth Strategy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi evaluated the progress made by PM Shri Schools and highlighted that results-oriented, robustly future-ready implementation, rather than merely upgrading the physical facilities of the school system, is required. To facilitate measurable improvements in service delivery across various sectors, the Prime Minister encouraged States to establish PRAGATI-like mechanisms at the Chief Secretary level. PRAGATI will remain a critical governance tool in achieving the National Vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, according to Mr. Modi, and thus requires enhanced alignment, accelerated implementation, and sustained monitoring of the national development agenda, which is now moving rapidly. PRAGATI will continue to support the timely and quality execution of the projects.
