Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh highlighted the growing role of the private sector in India's economy, stating that it is now steering the nation’s economic progress. Speaking at the inauguration of a new Sainik School at Shri Bhawani Niketan Public School, Singh noted that Sainik schools are being set up under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, a shift from the traditional approach where the central and state governments jointly managed these schools. He stressed that these institutions will play a crucial role in instilling values such as discipline, patriotism, and courage in students, giving a fresh direction to society. He also pointed out the changing economic dynamics, with the private sector increasingly taking the lead in manufacturing and services. In contrast, the agricultural sector employs over 50% of the workforce.

He expressed confidence that the PPP model in education will combine the strengths of both private and public sectors, providing the best education to future generations. He emphasized India’s historical focus on education in diverse fields such as science, mathematics, astronomy, and the arts. He said that the New Education Policy will help shape an empowered generation. He also highlighted the broader role of Sainik schools in holistic development, preparing students to contribute to the nation’s progress. The event was attended by Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Diya Kumari and Minister Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Last year, the Union government approved the establishment of 100 Sainik schools in partnership with NGOs, private schools, and state governments, with the first schools starting from Class 6. In September 2023, the Sainik Schools Society signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti to establish the new Sainik School.
