Mahindra Group Chairman Mr. Anand Mahindra emphasised the need for India’s private sector to match the government's efforts in job creation, warning that without a unified approach, the country’s demographic dividend could become a demographic disaster. Reacting to the Union Budget for 2024-25, Mr. Mahindra said the budget reflects the government's commitment to growth and job creation.

Mr. Mahindra praised India's GDP growth and its status as a preferred investment destination. However, he stressed that this growth must be accompanied by substantial job creation. He commended the schemes announced by Finance Minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, noting their potential but highlighting the importance of closely monitoring their effectiveness and making necessary adjustments. He also urged the private sector to contribute to both employment and employability initiatives actively and cautioned that failure to collaborate on these efforts could undermine the country’s demographic advantages, turning them into liabilities.
