According to the company’s CMD, Mr. Rajib K. Mishra, state-owned PTC India announced plans to establish a power trading company in Nepal that will provide electricity to Bangladesh and India. This move will support the government's effort to create an energy security architecture with a focus on South Asia.

If the necessary infrastructure is put in place, PTC may eventually supply power to Myanmar and Vietnam in addition to India and Bangladesh, according to Mr. Mishra.

PTC and NHPC have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the sale of electricity from Nepal's planned West Seti and Seti River-6 hydropower projects.

The company is anticipating Nepal's Electricity Act 2022 amendments, which would open the door to power trading for businesses.
