Rajnath exhorts US defence majors to join 'Make in India,' 'Make for World'

On April 10, Mr. Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defence met with Boeing and Raytheon, two major US aerospace and defence companies, and urged them to take advantage of India's policy efforts focused on 'Make in India' and 'Make for World.'

The minister landed in Washington DC on Sunday for a five-day visit to the US, where he is going to participate in the fourth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. During his visit to the US, which runs till April 15, Mr. Singh will meet with US leaders to discuss ways to strengthen the India-US strategic cooperation. On April 11, the defence minister will meet with his US counterpart, Mr. Lloyd J Austin III, at the Pentagon.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) further stated that the 2+2 India-US Ministerial Dialogue would give a chance to the two countries to share their perspectives on critical regional and global trends, as well as matters regarding shared interests and concerns.

Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend a virtual meeting with US President, Mr. Joe Biden on April 11, ahead of the 2+2 talks between India and the US.
