RBL Bank and Google today established a strategic partnership to fuel the bank's customer experience strategy and broaden its value proposition to service its fast growing customer base through Abacus 2.0, its digital platform. This partnership will improve client data management and analytics, allowing for successful cross-selling within the bank's enormous customer base and, as a result, lowering customer acquisition costs dramatically. The Bank hopes to give a superior and holistic one-stop solution to its existing and prospective customers through Abacus 2.0, allowing it to provide its many product offerings across channels in a seamless manner.

RBL Bank now has over 4 million urban retail asset and liability customers, with a target of 12-14 million in the next three years. For easy customer onboarding, RBL Bank will rely on Google Cloud's secure and scalable infrastructure. It will also serve as the technological foundation for a robust product-agnostic client acquisition engine that will provide more inclusive access to a wide range of goods, including payments, deposits, insurance, credit cards, investments, secured loans, and more.

RBL Bank will use various Google digital solutions across digital channels to improve client acquisition and product promotion as a result of their collaboration.

"This is a critical strategic turning point in our digital transformation. One of our important business initiatives is to advance our innovation agenda and establish an optimised and agile data platform to serve our present and new clients. We will complement our client targeting with Google Ads and investigate co-innovation opportunities with platforms like Google Pay to boost user engagement and establish new digital services," said Surinder Chawla, RBL Bank's Head of Branch and Business Banking.

RBL Bank will be able to extend its platform and services while meeting local regulatory and compliance standards by leveraging Google Cloud's local infrastructure.

"Cloud technologies enable banks to give their customers a fast, safe, and intuitive experience," said Bikram Bedi, Country Head of Google Cloud in India. "We are ecstatic to be able to assist RBL Bank in advancing their digital strategy and leveraging the power of Google's enormous solutions to create and deliver significant new services to their fast expanding customer base."
