Founder and Chairman of Reliance Group, Mr. Anil Ambani, led Reliance Aerostructure Limited (RAL) and Dassault Aviation announced a landmark strategic alliance at the Paris Air Show to shift production of the Falcon 2000 business jets to India for global customers. Through their joint venture, Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd (DRAL), this marks the first time in Dassault’s 106-year history that the twin-engine Falcon 2000 will be manufactured outside France. The move positions India alongside the United States, France, Canada, and Brazil as a strategic hub for next-generation executive aircraft manufacturing, underscoring the country’s growing aerospace ambitions.
As part of the agreement, DRAL will establish a state-of-the-art final assembly line for the Falcon 2000 at Multi-modal International Cargo Hub (MIHAN) in Nagpur, which will also become the global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for all Falcon models, including the Falcon 6X and Falcon 8X. Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, Mr. Eric Trappier, emphasised the commitment to ‘Make in India’ through this initiative, with assembly transfers for key components underway and the first Falcon 2000 expected to take flight from Nagpur by 2028. He highlighted the partnership’s alignment with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and ‘Make in India for the World.’ Since its inception in 2017, DRAL has delivered over 100 major sub-assemblies and plans to hire several hundred engineers and technicians over the next decade, signalling strong confidence in India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities and fostering a robust local supplier network.
