Reliance Industries maintains its position as India's most valuable company, as per the 2023 Hurun Global 500 list, ranking 44th globally with a valuation of US$ 198 billion. Despite this, no Indian firm reached the top 40 spots globally. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC Bank followed Reliance, with TCS witnessing a 14% rise in net worth to US$ 158 billion, advancing five spots to 60th place. HDFC Bank climbed 43 positions to 68th place after merging with HDFC. Titan Company and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries also entered the top 500 due to expansions and acquisitions. However, 48 companies, including three Adani group entities, dropped off the list due to declining valuations. India's overall ranking slipped by one rank to sixth, with 18 companies featured. Globally, the report highlighted a milestone as five companies surpassed a valuation of US$ 1 trillion, comprising Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Nvidia, with consistent dominance in the top four positions.
