RIL to build 1 GW AI data centre in Andhra Pradesh, deepen investment footprint

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries will invest in a 1 GW Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centre in Andhra Pradesh, creating a twin facility to its gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Jamnagar. Announced at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, the project will house innovative Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), and AI processors, forming one of Asia’s strongest AI infrastructure networks. Reliance is also committed to a 6 GWp solar power project to supply clean energy to the upcoming AI infrastructure. The company reiterated its long-term commitment to the state, where it has already invested more than Rs. 2,21,775 crore (US$ 25 billion) across oil and gas, digital services, and retail.
Reliance will additionally set up a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool on 170 acres allotted by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and build integrated compressed biogas hubs to support natural farming and rural economies. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, said the investments align with the state’s vision to become a global hub for AI, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Executive Director, Reliance, Mr. P. M. S. Prasad, said the company aims to empower the state through technology and sustainable growth, while Minister Mr. Nara Lokesh emphasised faster project clearances and regulatory reforms to support industry expansion.
