Schneider Electric to set up 5,00,000 square feet (sq. ft.) manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu

Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has announced the development of a 5,00,000 square feet (sq. Ft.) manufacturing facility for its Information Technology (IT) Business at Horizon Industrial Park near Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu. The project, in partnership with Horizon Industrial Parks, backed by Blackstone Real Estate funds, will be executed in two phases. The first phase includes a dust-free manufacturing unit, modern offices, and enhanced infrastructure such as increased industrial power capacity and advanced fire safety systems, supporting an initial workforce of 1,500. The second phase will see the construction of a custom facility tailored to Schneider Electric’s operational needs, expected to be completed within seven months. This investment aims to boost production capacity and operational efficiency while leveraging the location’s connectivity to Bengaluru and Chennai markets.
Committed to sustainability, the new facility will incorporate eco-friendly features such as rooftop solar panels, roof insulation with glass wool, and skylights for natural lighting, aligned with Horizon Industrial Park’s ‘Platinum’ pre-certification by the Indian Green Building Council. Advanced ventilation, electric vehicle charging stations, smart lighting sensors, and an integrated Building Management System will further optimise energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint. Horizon Industrial Parks manages 40 assets across nine key markets, spanning 2,000 acres with 50 million sq. ft. of leasable area, reinforcing India’s growing industrial infrastructure ecosystem.
