SHE-LEAPS: Digital Empowerment for Lakhpati Didis

The Government has launched the Self-Help Entrepreneur-Livelihoods and Enterprise Application for Prosperity and Sustainability (SHE-LEAPS), a digital platform designed to strengthen women-led rural enterprises and accelerate the Lakhpati Didi initiative through data-driven entrepreneurship. Developed by the Digital India Corporation and implemented under the LokOS platform, SHE-LEAPS provides a unified digital interface for enterprise creation, performance tracking and livelihood management for women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Launched on June 29, 2026, during the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan in New Delhi, the platform supports both farm and non-farm enterprises by integrating rural producers with formal value chains, improving financial inclusion and enabling real-time monitoring of enterprise performance. SHE-LEAPS will be implemented across 34 States and Union Territories, assisting State Rural Livelihood Missions through improved governance, digital record-keeping and data-driven decision-making.

The platform captures the complete livelihood journey of rural entrepreneurs, from profile creation to enterprise performance tracking, while providing digital services that strengthen planning, monitoring and policy implementation. SHE-LEAPS is expected to play a key role in expanding the Lakhpati Didi initiative, for which the Government has increased the target from three crore to six crore women. To support this expansion, the Government plans to provide Rs. 10 lakh crore (US$ 106.04 billion) over the next five years to strengthen women-led enterprises and enhance rural livelihoods. By combining digital infrastructure with entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, the platform is expected to improve income generation, promote sustainable enterprise development and strengthen the rural economy. The initiative reinforces the Government's commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs, expanding digital governance and advancing inclusive rural development under the vision of Viksit Bharat.
