Shell to install over 10,000 EV charging points across India by 2030

By 2030, the energy company Shell plans to install more than 10,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout India. Shell unveiled its first EV chargers in India for the two- and four-wheeled vehicle markets in Bengaluru on September 10, 2022.

Shell intends to install charging stations in Bengaluru's petrol pumps located in Yeshwantpur, Marathalli, Old Madras Road, Brookefield, and Kanakapura during the initial phase of its debut.

The company will use direct-current (DC) fast chargers with100 kilowatt (KW) for on-the-go and standalone EV hubs to enable quick charging and the shortest dwell time.

“The Shell Recharge proposition is based on unique insights that we picked up in our research and global experience” said, Mr. Sanjay Varkey, Director, Shell Mobility, India.
