Shiprocket becomes first inter-city logistics provider to join ONDC network

On October 22, Shiprocket, a provider of shipping and logistics solutions, completed its first successful transaction after becoming online on the government's Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

According to Shiprocket, it is the first inter-city logistics company to connect to the ONDC network, making it possible for vendors from all market segments to transport goods to towns and cities all over India.

Sellers from 24,000 pin codes will be able to choose delivery partners and ship products across India using both pre-paid and cash-on-delivery options owing to Shiprocket, which has more than 100,000 consumers.

Working together, ONDC and Shiprocket are making warehousing-as-a-service available through the network. This will make it possible for small and medium-sized businesses to provide their clients same-day shipping services.
