A significant percentage of employers in India plan to hire freshers with AI-related roles in H1 FY25, according to TeamLease EdTech’s Career Outlook Report 2025. Over 74% of employers intend to hire freshers during January-June 2025. AI-related roles lead the job market, which aligns with the government’s push for technological progression and workforce growth. Employers are prioritising skills in data visualisation, cloud computing, and robotics over degrees. This shift creates opportunities for freshers to enter high-impact roles and drive innovation across industries. The report is based on a survey of 649 employers across India.

E-commerce and technology start-ups plan to hire the most freshers, at 70%, followed by the manufacturing sector at 66% and engineering and infrastructure at 62%. Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai are key employment hubs, with hiring intent reaching 78%, 65% and 57%, respectively. Companies also seek talent in robotic process automation, performance marketing, network security, and financial risk analysis. In terms of essential technology tools, employers prioritise productivity and collaboration tools (83%), project management software (73%), and data visualisation tools (64%).
