Six of the ten most valuable firms saw an increase in their total market cap of Rs. 156,247.35 crore (US$ 19.67 billion) last week, with Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) recording the largest gain. While Infosys, HUL, and LIC faced losses over the holiday-shortened week, RIL, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, and Bajaj Finance saw gains in their market capitalization (m-cap).
RIL's valuation stood at a whopping Rs. 1,781,028.47 crore (US$ 224.18 billion) followed by TCS at Rs. 1,244,004.29 crore (US$ 156.58 billion), and HDFC Bank saw an increase of Rs. 825,207.35 crore (US$ 103.87 billion).
The major benchmark indices last week registered gains for the fourth consecutive week, with the Sensex rising by 1.83% and the Nifty rising by 1.95% on a weekly basis.
