On Tuesday, European automaker Skoda Auto announced a lease scheme for its Rapid and Superb models, under which it offered these cars for a tenure range of 24-60 months on monthly rentals starting at Rs. 22,580 (US$ 304.43).

Clever Lease, the scheme, targets both retail and corporate clients. Initially, it was rolled out in eight cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, according to a release by Skoda India Auto.

The industry is experiencing a transition worldwide, and we need to change too: from a conventional automotive maker to a partner in a mobility solution.

"Over the next few years, we expect leasing to increase multiple times, and with the tangible benefits of Clever Lease, we plan to adequately meet the demand of a generation that weighs convenience over ownership," said Mr. Zac Hollis, Skoda Auto India Brand Director.

With a variety of flexible solutions, be it basic, dry, or wet lease, monthly leases can be made available on Rapid TSI and new Superb models for a tenure of 24, 36, 48, and 60 months, the Skoda said, adding the monthly lease rental will begin at Rs. 22,580 (US$ 304.43).

As per the release, “The choice of ‘Clever Lease’ provides a range of benefits and facilities, including road tax, insurance, breakdown assistance, accidental repairs, end-to - end maintenance, planned adjustments in tyres and batteries, and a new car.”

Mr. Sandeep Gambhir, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services Ltd., said, "Skoda Auto India and ORIX India have been collaborating to create ground-breaking customer proposals. the Clever Lease is another progressive step in that direction, and we are really excited to work with Skoda in developing solutions that boost versatility and comfort for customers who want to drive these vehicles.”
