Steel Authority of India Limited clocked its best-ever Quarter 1 performance in production and sales

In terms of production and sales, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) had a record-breaking performance in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24 (Q1 FY24).
The production of crude steel stood at 4.66 million tonnes (MT), while that of hit metal and saleable steel was 5.04 MT and 4.40 MT, respectively. Their production marked the best first-ever first-quarter results and also represent an outstanding growth of 8%, 7%, and 8%, respectively, compared to the previous best.
By generating a sales volume of 3.9 MT in the first quarter, SAIL also achieved its best-ever sales performance, witnessing a growth of about 24%. SAIL's record-breaking performance is the result of its ongoing commitment to maximising capacity utilisation and satisfying customer demands.
