Tata Power ties up with Indian Oil to set up over 500 EV charging stations

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd (TPEVCSL) has recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to deploy more than 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging points nationwide. Under this strategic partnership, Tata Power will establish these charging stations at IOCL's retail outlets. The collaboration aims to establish a robust and widespread intercity charging network to address concerns related to range anxiety for electric vehicle owners undertaking intercity travel.

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd (TPEVCSL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have joined forces to install over 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging points in major cities and along key highways in India. Leveraging IOCL's extensive network, Tata Power will strategically place fast and superfast charging stations, addressing range anxiety for intercity EV travel. Users can access and book these stations through the "Tata Power EZ Charge" and "IndianOil e-Charge" apps. IOCL aims to have 10,000 EV charging stations by 2024, while Tata Power already operates in over 420 cities with more than 62,000 home chargers, 4,900 public charging points, and 430 bus charging stations.
