According to a tentative deal agreed between the two firms on October 25, 2022, Tata Steel's Dutch division intends to supply Ford plants in Europe with "green" steel after 2030.

In 2030, Tata intends to begin manufacturing green steel at its Dutch facility in Ijmuiden, or steel made without the use of fossil fuels.

Ford announced in a separate statement that it has also inked supply MOUs with Tata, ThyssenKrupp, and Salzgitter to provide "low carbon" steel for use in making the new electric crossover model it intends to begin producing in Cologne next year.
