Tata Steel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Australia-based InQuik Group to introduce modular bridge systems across India. This collaboration combines Tata Steel’s manufacturing capabilities with InQuik’s award-winning, ready-to-install bridge technology. The solution utilises prefabricated steel moulds filled with concrete on-site, enabling rapid construction, lower costs, and high durability, especially in harsh terrains. This innovation is expected to address critical infrastructure gaps in remote areas, where poor road connectivity and limited access to heavy construction equipment hinder development. The initiative aligns with India’s national vision of creating robust transport networks that reduce travel time, stimulate trade, and integrate underserved communities.
For Tata Steel, the move signifies a strategic expansion from raw material supply to delivering integrated, value-added infrastructure solutions. Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Steel, Mr. Thachat Viswanath Narendran, highlighted the company’s commitment to smart and sustainable construction for modern India. For InQuik Group, the partnership represents a significant foray into the Indian market and supports its global growth plans. Chief Executive Officer of InQuik Group, Mr. Logan Mullaney, expressed excitement about delivering quick, cost-effective, and resilient infrastructure in partnership with Tata Steel. The next step will be identifying suitable sites where the modular bridge technology can deliver the greatest benefits.
