Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a partnership with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to accelerate the creation of India’s sovereign cloud ecosystem. The collaboration will focus on developing indigenous, artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled cloud platforms that meet India’s data localisation mandates and enable the secure digitisation of critical public sector services. According to TCS, the joint initiative will integrate C-DAC’s research and innovations into its sovereign cloud stack to host essential government applications such as e-Sanjeevani, Dial 112, and key workloads from central ministries.

The partnership aims to strengthen security, compliance, and performance across sectors, including healthcare, defence, smart cities, and banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI). Built on OpenStack and indigenous technologies, the initiative seeks to reduce dependence on global hyperscalers and position sovereign cloud platforms as the preferred choice for India’s digital transformation projects. President, Growth Markets at TCS, Mr. Girish Ramachandran, said the collaboration combines indigenous R&D, public sector infrastructure, and TCS’s enterprise expertise to deliver secure and future-ready cloud platforms tailored to a digitally empowered India.
