Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced plans to hire approximately 1,000 new personnel in New Jersey by the end of 2023 to address the growing demand from customers to digitally transform their organisations. TCS will increase the scope of its STEM and computer science education programmes in New Jersey by 25%, extending teacher training and student activities, in order to foster a pipeline of local IT talent for the state.
More than 100 customers in New Jersey are served by TCS' Edison Business Center, one of 30 TCS sites in the United States. TCS employs around 3,700 people in the state, providing IT and consulting services to a variety of industries using artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and enterprise software.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy remarked, "We are happy to have Tata Consultancy Services grow its footprint in New Jersey and invest in our future workforce by expanding its STEM education initiatives." TCS is generating tremendous economic growth in New Jersey by producing thousands of high-skilled jobs. TCS is one of the top two US recruiters of IT services talent, having hired more than 21,500 people in the last five years, according to the business.

TCS has hired approximately 450 students from colleges and universities across the Garden State over the last five years, as well as launching its own STEM and computer science programmes for students and educators to help establish a pipeline of local IT talent in New Jersey.
TCS' goIT programme, a STEM training effort that supports digital innovation and professional preparedness, has directly impacted over 42,000 students in the United States and Canada, including over 870 students in New Jersey who participated in 25 different events. Through teaching curriculums and other events such as CSEdWeek and STEM Career Accelerator Day, more than 2,900 students in New Jersey have participated in goIT programming. TCS also celebrated the end of a month-long goIT STEM Camp with the Edison, New Jersey Board of Education in August 2021, which drew 350 children.
