India’s textile exports to 111 countries grew 10% YoY during April-September 2025, reaching Rs. 75,306 crore (US$ 8.49 billion) compared to Rs. 68,471 crore (US$ 7.72 billion) in the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Textiles. The increase of Rs. 6,833 crore (US$ 770 million) reflects the sector’s strong performance despite persistent global challenges and tariff-related pressures in key markets. Overall, India’s exports of textiles, apparel, and made ups rose marginally by 0.1% during H1 FY26, signalling steady resilience in a subdued global trade environment.

Major markets that recorded notable growth include the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (14.5%), Japan (19%), Spain (9%), France (9.2%), Germany (2.9%), and the United Kingdom (UK) (1.5%). In comparison, emerging destinations such as Egypt (27%), Hong Kong (69%), and Saudi Arabia (12.5%) saw strong momentum. Ready-Made Garments (RMG) of all textiles grew by 3.42%, and jute exports rose by 5.56%, driving the overall uptick. The Ministry said the performance underscores the adaptability and competitiveness of India’s textile sector amid global uncertainties. The growth aligns with the government’s strategy to diversify export destinations and enhance value addition under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, reinforcing India’s position as a leading global textile supplier.
